Yesterday was the kick off of the super duper exciting Wyoming State Fair. Let me tell you, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am by this totally worthless event. It means that tons of hicks will be invading Douglas!!
Wyoming State Fair, the completely lame event that occurs yearly here in Douglas. It’s pretty much the big hoopla of the summer for us hicks. I’m sad to say that I will not be attending it for pretty much the 4th year in a row. I did cheat a little bit last year and snuck into the rodeo on the final night to see the bull riding. But I figure that doesn’t count, cause I didn’t pay.
The state fair does mean a few good things, though. For one thing, work at the pool will be incrediably slow. We’ll have pretty much no one show up; so despite that fact that I just sit on my butt anyhow, I will have to do even less. I at least usually help out a bit, but this week I will have to do absolutely nothing. Well, I will have to play board games and cards with my co-workers to keep the spirits up, but that’s a small price to pay.
Should be a rough week, anyone around the area, don’t bother coming to the fair. Believe me, you won’t miss a thing.
I hear ya Andy! State Fair was fun…never. But hey at least you get to sit huh andy?
Posted by: Spencer on August 12, 2002 04:37 PMdude, try the park county fair up in powell. ::shudder::
Posted by: kim on August 15, 2002 04:39 PMwell, we all know that powell just sucks :)
i’ll have to attend sometime, just to see if it’s really that bad.
Posted by: Andy on August 15, 2002 07:18 PMsimply put: there were huge holes in the bottoms of the cars on the himalayan (spelled wrong, i know it), and the ferris wheel honestly sounded (and looked) like it was held together by super glue. i’ve been scarred for life now. but do check it out if you can - it’s more horrific in person. :)
and yes, powell DOES suck, especially when you attempt to go to the so-called college there.
