- Have you checked out chromogenic lately? Back from France, with tons of pics. Some of them are fantastic.
- Introductory papers on quantum computing. I really want to learn more.
- Connectedness. The weblog of a social network guru.
- Introductory Algebraic Number Theory. This book has seriously saved my life.
- I challenge the adventurous to try to make stroopwaffles. They’re a fantastic Dutch cookie.
There’s a girl from Belgium living next door to me. Well, two girls from Belgium, actually. They are from the southern half, so they’re primary language is French. Yes, Belgium is officially bilingual. So anyhow, the girl’s name is Emilie. She’s my favorite.
I mean not literally my favorite person. But we get along. Mainly cause I laugh at her all the time. Mainly because she’s so blunt.
Don’t even try drinking cold coffee around her, cause appearantly it’s wrong. And drink Belgian beer too, that’s a plus. Chocolate is good virtually anytime.
Emelie cracks me up. She’s essentially like the stereotypical French girl one would see in a film. She even speaks like one.
But anyhow, here’s a quick memory about her. She came into my room the other night to ask me about something. I don’t remember what, but we ended up having a really long discussion about video games. She even pulled out her Gameboy and showed me that she was playing Final Fantasy Tactics. She thought it was an alright game, but not as good as Zelda. She really likes Zelda.
When she left, she told me, “I will have to work on my English, cause I very much like to speak with you, but I can’t understand you much.”
I laughed and told her that she had fine English. Sure I have to help her out with some words, but I get what she’s saying. We then entered a conversation about how people want one to speak Dutch and French in Belgium, but there’s no need for English. Emelie claims that she can’t speak English after talking in Dutch all day, as her classes are in Dutch.
I really enjoy reading your dutch adventures :)
Stroopwaffles are real tasty!

Wish I had seen more of this lake and the canyon around it. That evening there was an incredible lightning/rain storm that shook the canyon and was terrifying. Most exciting storm I have ever been in. And the company with me made it all the better.
