Medicine Bow Peak in Wyoming

Medicine Bow I

Bry and I didn’t think that there’d be too much snow in the mountains in early September, but we were wrong. The day was beautiful, but there was loads of snow on the trail, too much to slog through without better shoes. I normally hike in running shoes since they are lighter and more comfortable than my hiking boots, but I made a bad choice this day. We turned before making it to the peak; fellow hikers said the ascent was too snow covered to make it.

Medicine Bow is one of my favorite nearby hikes, and I’ve posted photos of the harsh Wyoming landscape before.
